Don’t miss the Title Deeds Express: New human settlements service bus to expand delivery

The City’s Human Settlements Directorate and its Mayco Member Councillor Carl Pophaim has officially launched its new big, bold and lime customer service bus that will be visiting residents door-to-door and neighbourhood to neighbourhood to help with, among others, Council rental and accounts matters, title deed services and informal and backyarder services. This brand new initiative also sends the message to housing beneficiaries not to miss the bus and to get on the Title Deed Express as the City continues its drive to create more homeowners.
‘What an amazing milestone we are reaching and yet another improvement to our human settlements service delivery offering. Not only are we using this mobile office to meet our residents where they are, we are also launching our Title Deeds Express campaign where we are creating thousands of homeowners. This is the latest innovation in our title deed campaign where we are creating homeowners by delivering title deeds to their doorstep, in their communities. The message is clear – don’t miss the bus. The Title Deed Express will be in your community soon.
‘This bus is about access. It’s about meeting residents where they are and making sure Human Settlements services feel reachable and responsive.
‘We are making 2026 another exciting year for the Human Settlements Directorate and we are ready to assist as many residents as possible. We are committed to strong outreach and on the ground service delivery and we will ensure even greater access of our Human Settlements services in the coming months,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for the Human Settlements, Councillor Carl Pophaim.
Residents are reminded that City housing services are free. If any payment is requested, beneficiaries are advised to verify directly with the City’s Human Settlements call centre on 021 444 0333.

We encourage beneficiaries in older City housing developments, who do not have their title deed, to contact the City. To really drive progress, we will soon take our new Human Settlements bus into all areas of the metro
